FAQ
Is this festival actually free?
Yes! The festival is not-for-profit, and is presented for free to attendees. It is made possible by generous support from our sponsors and donations from community members like you. Thank you for helping to keep the festival free for all!
How should I dress?
In addition to wearing your most fabulous mask and dressing warmly for our winter weather, we always encourage attendees to participate by donning festive accessories. For sustainability concerns, we suggest avoiding single-use glowsticks (that you “crack” to activate) and instead using reusable, solar- and battery-charged LED lights, el-wire (electroluminescent wire), and other light accessory options.
Can I bring my dog?
Well-behaved dogs are allowed at all outdoor locations except at the World Trade Center Plaza. We recommend lighting up your dog for extra visibility.
What are your hours?
Check each individual listing for hours. Some exhibits require staffing and have limited hours, while some will be on for the entire duration of the festival. Our anchor locations (Pioneer Courthouse Square, World Trade Center Portland, and Electric Blocks) will be operating 6pm - 10pm, Friday and Saturday, February 4 - 5 and 11 - 12.
Are you accepting vendors?
There are no vendor opportunities at the Portland Winter Light Festival. Please support our official merchandise tents; all proceeds help us bring PDXWLF to you in future years!
Anything else I should know?
Please see our COVID-19 guidelines page. If you have any other questions, please email info@pdxwlf.com.
TriMet
We recommend using TriMet (buses, MAX, WES and LIFT) to navigate to different locations across Portland. TriMet is FREE to ride on Friday, February 4 in honor of Rosa Parks' birthday.
Portland Streetcar
Once again, the Portland Streetcar will offer FREE transit on all nights of the festival. Just hop on between 6pm - 10pm on any festival night!
