Kinetic DeLight is an opportunity to create light and joy together. Hundreds of kinetically illuminated skateboard wheels create a playfully dynamic installation that is an ever-changing reflection of visitor energy. Trail your hand along a wall of wheels and create dreamy, magical streaks of light from your fingertips. An ephemeral glowing pattern emerges from the ebb and flow of all who give it a spin.
As an interdisciplinary design firm focusing on landscape architecture and experiential graphic design, Mayer/Reed delights in opportunities to stretch our design thinking in areas that blend place, 3D objects and human experience. Seeking an interactive installation not requiring electricity, we created the human powered Kinetic DeLight with help from our friends Adam Pond and Grummel Engineering. Spin some light together!
