The 10 Principle Lanterns illuminate a path forward with pictorial representations of the 10 Principles of Burning Man. They are based on open source art by James Wickham. The Principles are: Radical Inclusion, Gifting, Decommodification, Radical Self Expression, Communal Effort, Civic Responsibility, Leave no Trace, Participation and Immediacy.

Beyond the desert, these principles provide goals that, when applied to our community, can provide for a future that is more inclusive, creative and generous. One that builds community, respects our environment, and strives to be self-sufficient while caring for those less fortunate than ourselves.

JT Thompson is a member of The Foundry 2.0, a local collective of artists, makers and musicians. It is an incubator for creativity in the inner Eastside.
